Because No Was Never An Option
One day I was shopping in Target with my kids, pinching pennies, and there it was, “out of the vault,” the latest release Disney movie staring at me right in the wallet. What would possess me to put back enough groceries to cover a $24.99 VCR tape? Disney!!! We bought furniture to house our tape collections back then, didn’t we?
Maybe you can relate.

Growing Up Disney
Although I can remember as far back as 1979 for my strongest first memories, my first trip to Walt Disney World was in 1973. The Big Bad Wolf character reeling around the hub scared the Madame Leota out of me, but so did the Three Little Pigs running away from him. For the life of me, I couldn’t figure out why Cinderella would not let me see her in the castle. After all, I came all that way to hang out with her! But then there it was, that magical FIRST time I saw her!!!!! I was coming out of the Emporium with my mom, and she said, “David! Put Jenny on your shoulders! Here comes Cinderella!!!” There she was in her coach, all lit up with the most fantastic music playing in the Main Street Electrical Parade. After my dad, Walt Disney already had my heart, but this was when I knew dreams were real.
Just think, this magic still happens every single day over and over on the most magical Main Street, USA.
Passing The Disney Magic On To Future Generations
I grew up traveling to Disney many times and decided that there was no way I wouldn’t be taking my kids there. Having a husband who grew up camping across America was an obstacle, but I showed him the way. I love my husband dearly, and he has to love me because we actually cannot count the amount of time we’ve spent in Walt Disney World over the years. For all you “Princess Bride” fans out there, my husband, Bruce, is my Westley, and, yes, I camped once just for him.
Having five kids (1995, 1996, 1998, 2001, and 2003), we had to make it work, and we did because no was never a possibility. So my kids would know dreams really did come true, just like I did growing up. Dreams grow over the years, but where they start will always have a special place in your heart.
I love everything about Disney, and now I travel the rest of the world comparing everything I see to Disney Imagineering.
I’ve learned to love travel beyond “Four Parks: One World.” Not only do I have great Disney life stories to tell, I also have the latest and greatest information about traveling to the Parks, cruising, and worldwide getaway destinations. In addition, I love helping people realize their travel destiny.
“When you love what you do, you never work a day in your life.” Either Mark Twain, Confucius, Maya Angelou, or Walt Disney said this. You guessed it. I’m going with Walt.
Let’s dream together!
